Award for old Stretfordians

Old Stretfordians, who joined the Lancashire and Cheshire AFL in 1928, have enjoyed another successful season which culminated in them being awarded the coveted FA Charter Standard Club Award.
To achieve this status the club has had to set standards in discipline, organisation and best practice, showing that the club is well run with qualified staff.
Along with this award the club’s first team, who reached the semi-finals of the Manchester Amateur Cup, have been promoted to the Premier division for next season.
In addition the fourth team won the Hellawell Shield and the over 35’s took the Vets Cup for the second time.
At the other end of the age scale, the club’s u16s won the County Cup.
Club President Malcolm Kershaw on receiving the charter standard said: "This award is a credit to all the hard work put in by everyone involved in running the club.
"It shows the players, parents, volunteers and sponsors that Old Stretfordians is a well- run club that is improving standards both on and off the field."
