Euro giants Munster in Sharks pool

SHARKS will face European champions Munster in the pool stage of the Heineken Cup next season.

The draw, which took place on Tuesday, June 17 also pits Sale against two French clubs – ASM Clermont Auvergne and Montauban.

Sharks played Munster during the Championship-winning 2005/06 season, beating them at Edgeley Park in the opening round. ERC will now liaise with the broadcasters so a fixture list for each group can be drawn up.

The only way for Sharks supporters to guarantee a seat for these games is by purchasing a season ticket for the 2008/09 campaign.

Season ticket prices start from £149 for adults and £59 for juniors for 18 Sale Sharks home games – including the three Heineken Cup pool matches.

The Guinness Premiership fixtures for next season will be drawn on Tuesday, June 24. Fans can find out who Sharks will face on the opening day of the season at www.salesharks.com.

The club expects demand for season tickets to increase once the fixtures are announced and is advising people to book early to secure the best seat.

n SHARKS prop Andrew Sheridan will miss England’s second Test against New Zealand due to an eye injury.

Sheridan required 12 stitches for a cut under his eye sustained during Saturday’s match against the All Blacks. It is expected he will need to allow at least two weeks for the cut to heal.

n SHARKS forwards Sebastien Chabal, Sebastien Bruno and Lionel Faure have all been selected for the French squad to tour Australia this summer.

The trio were named in Marc Lievremont’s 26-man squad for the Tests in Sydney and Brisbane on June 28 and July 5.
