SALE Sharks are asking for volunteers to help clear the Edgeley Park pitch ahead of the New Year's Day clash with Harlequins.
A club spokesman said: "The pitch is entirely covered by a blanket at the moment and warm air is being blown under the blanket to stop the pitch from freezing. However we need some helpers, if you have time on your hands this week.
"Our own frost covers are partially buried around the perimeter by snow and we need to get them ready in case the temperature continues to plummet.
"Stockport County fans did an excellent job in helping out with the pitch to get their game with Leeds United played and we would be very grateful if any Sharks fans can spare a few hours working on the pitch. We need fans today, tomorrow and Thursday between the hours of 9am and 3pm."
