Bob takes on a new position

BOB Stafford has been named as the new Lancashire and Cheshire League president for its forthcoming centenary season in 2008/09.
He was installed into office at the league’s recent AGM, receiving a glowing tribute from league chairman Keith Marsden in the process.
He said: "Bob has done a truly magnificent job as secretary for his club Stoconians over the past 20 years, regularly fielding up to six teams each week in the league.
"Due to his superb administration the club rarely, if ever, incurs fines and has won numerous awards for fair play over the years as well as a few trophies in the league.
"Bob has stepped down as secretary of his club but will continue to be strongly involved with the club as their chairman.
"I am sure that he will bring all of his considerable skills to the role of president during a year which will give the league a very high profile in the game."
