Man mugged at knifepoint

A MAN was threatened at knifepoint in Old Trafford by a gang of men who stole thousands of pounds in cash.
The robbery happened on Skerton Road some time between 11.45pm on Tuesday, August 19 and 0.10am on Wednesday, August 20.
The 39-year-old victim was walking along the road when three men approached him from behind. Two of the offenders pinned him to the ground while the third held a knife to his throat. They then searched the victim and stole a substantial amount of cash which was in an envelope.
The only description he was able to provide of his attackers was that they were all wearing dark clothing and balaclavas.
Police are now appealing to anyone with information to come forward. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the theft is asked to call the Robbery Unit at Stretford on 0161 856 7553 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
