Say ‘bonjour’ to learning

A SALE mum plans to bring a bit of joie de vivre to the borough.

Beatrice Bowyer has set up French classes for children aged from two to 11.

Together with her colleague, Sara Dawson, she is holding a welcome event at Timperley Library to show parents and children what they can expect from the sessions, which start in September.

Beatrice said: "Children are like sponges – they absorb everything.

"The philosophy of the classes is to learn in a fun and interactive way, and the children will not even realise they are learning so much."

Beatrice, 34, of Framingham Road, is originally from Nancy in France, but has lived in the UK for the past 12 years.

She says she feels it is important for children to learn a new language.

Beatrice added: "I took my redundancy last year and I wanted to do something useful and rewarding.

"I think this is a good opportunity for children to learn and love a new language.

"Learning a language should not be a chore – it should be enjoyable and open doors to new cultures."

Beatrice and Sara will teach the children using the La Jolie Ronde programme, which encourages fun and interaction.

The taster session will be held at Timperley library on Thursday, July 17 between 4 and 5pm.
