Pupils' songs make a connection

MUSICAL youngsters are gearing up for a unique concert on Thursday, July 10.

The children at Kingsway Primary School, Davyhulme, and their neighbours Christ Church are joining forces for the performance, which will see them singing a series of life-affirming songs.

They have already been enjoying the pop star experience, having recorded the tracks for a one-off CD with an organisation called Pop Connection.

Headteacher Alison Bowden said: "Making the CD has given the children a chance to sing together and take home a disk that they can keep.

"They are songs that have been written by Andy Silver from Pop Connection."

She added that the concert was also an 'exciting' way for the school to build on its exisiting relationship with the church.

She said: "Overall, this has been an unusual and exciting project for the children."

The concert will start at Christ Church, Lostock Road, at 6.30pm. Tickets, priced £2, are available from the school and the church or at the church on the night.
