Help needed to reach goal

A TALENTED young footballer who dreams one day of playing for her country is looking for financial support.

Kiosha McIntosh has been playing since the age of seven and has even been noticed by England scouts.

But the 16-year-old, of Lytham Road, Flixton, is currently travelling over 50 miles a week for her love of the beautiful game but wants to join a club closer to home.

The talented goalkeeper has been offered a place with a team in Salford but needs sponsorship from local people to ensure her a place on the team.

Her proud mum Brenda said: "At the moment Kiosha is travelling to Newcastle-Under-Lyme and another in Northwich every weekend to play football but this is a long way.

"She has been offered a place with the Salford Sports Village team and we really hope that she can start in a few weeks."

Having already achieved top grades in her studies, Kiosha has just a week left at St Anthony’s Catholic College, Urmston, but is looking to take her A-levels before going on to study law.

Despite her age, she is already torn between where she wants to be – the law courts or the football field.

Her mum explained: "Kiosha either wants to be a barrister or a professional footballer, perhaps even playing for England.

"She is a really talented footballer and was even visited by an England scout when she was playing football in Macclesfield. I am very proud of her."
