Synagogue opening hours bid is held up

12/ 5/2008

A DECISION on whether to allow a synagogue to extend its opening hours has been delayed.

Councillors were due to discuss a plan submitted by the South Manchester Synagogue on Thursday night but that decision was deferred because more objections to the bid had been received that morning.

The Bowdon synagogue wants to open from 6am to midnight instead of 8am to 9pm to allow for evening services.

The planning development control committee is expected to make discuss the bid at next month's meeting.
