I know this is a bit after the fact, but talking of facts, i would like to inform the ward councillor Neil Taylor that the accident concerning the barrier where he says no one was hurt is incorect, My son was rescued from underneath the vehicle that ripped the barrier apart as he had been standing there only seconds earlier and the insurance case is still ongoing today 20th July 08, he was taken to hospital and thankfully was able to come home with no broken bones, but he thought he was dying, we thought he was dying and he had to undergo several weeks worth of physiotherapy due to deep tissue damage caused by the impact, so somebody DID get hurt councillor..My Son who was 14 yrs when it happened, luckily he should see fifteen, i just thought you should be informed.

As part of the first ambulance crew on site to this job I feel some mention of the Ambulance Service's contribution should be made. The shop owner had a Paramedic inside the collapsed shop with her for over an hour before she was freed and other ambulance personnel were at and in both sides of the vehicle helping the driver. In addition to 2 ambulance crews there was also a SMART team and various other personnel on-site. The firefighters were great but it was a multi-service rescue.

Constables is a famous old shop that's been there for ages...my father used to go there as a child.

I hope the shop survives and is restored.
