Top new team signs in

A NEW team of professional gurus is set to get Heywood back in business.

Chris Beckett, Nina Khan and Laura Wildman have taken charge of the NDC-funded Heywood Business Support Project, a year after the The TOPS Business Centre on Hind Hill Street first opened its doors.

The project, which has helped numerous businesses to start off and flourish over the past 12 months, is to be funded until the NDC winds down in 2010.

And the trio of business mentors are eager to help as many budding entrepreneurs and existing businesses in the time they have.

Nina said: "This is a project for the people of Heywood and we aim to do as much as we can.

"We want people to see us as accessible and flexible. We are easy-going and able to offer advice wherever we can.

"If people don’t want to come to the centre to see us, just give us a ring and we’ll meet you wherever is convenient."

Chris is a business adviser, who ran his own firm for 10 years before going into consultancy work eight years ago.

Nina, a business adviser and outreach worker, has a background in both business and marketing.

And Laura will be the first port of call for many of the people the project is hoping to help.

The project offers advice, support, training and contacts for anyone in the NDC or Heywood area involved with business.

Chris added: "One of the main bonuses of our project is that we have very close contact with our partners.

"If we can’t help you, we’ll know someone who can, so we have a very wide range of resources within our reach."
