Lashing out at Liberty
1/12/2005
I READ that Liberty says cracking down on yob culture (Metro
News) is against human rights.
It is idiots such as those in Liberty who are responsible for most
of today's problems.
How many of them live on riot-filled estates? Until they do they
should keep quiet and let the police get on with their job.
Residents have rights too.
J Heyworth, Stockport
Why are the dispersal orders not borough-wide across Manchester and
into Stockport and Trafford too?
Also what is Liberty and who funds them, because I am sick of them
whingeing and whining about the rights of the troublemaking
scum.
What about the rights of people to live in peace without feeling
intimidated by gangs of youths roaming the streets.
On a recent night visit to the MRI accident and emergency unit
there were signs prohibiting use of mobile phones and drinking, but
they were simply being ignored.
The place was full of drunks and druggies. Never mind refusing to
give treatment to the overweight, the NHS should refuse to treat
these self-inflicted injuries.
Nobody cares any more or seems to carry out enforcement of
rules.
I say get tougher, stiffer sentences - life should mean that.
People talk about a nanny state. Perhaps we should have one, as
nannies are supposed to nurture, protect, teach morals and
manners.
