Why we oppose housing scheme
7/11/2008
I AM writing on behalf of the majority of residents living at the Spinney, near to the proposed scheme at Bowfell Court, Jackson Court, Urmston. We are strongly opposed to this scheme being carried out.
Reasons being:
- Many of use living here at the Spinney gave up our homes to live in a safe and peaceful environment, free from worry and pressure of harassment from outside elements, and this dream has been well and truly shattered by the mention of this scheme.
- We are sure it is also a worry to the many parents whose children enjoy activities at the Scout Hut at the end of Craig Avenue and Bowfell Road.
- Also, across the road, Urmston Grammar has many children travelling along the surrounding roads to Bowfell Court throughout the day.
- And lastly, outside the swimming baths where children congregate after their swimming activities are over.
All in all, it is a very bad idea to locate this building in a highly populated area which will affect all sections of the community.
I can tell you now, that is the feeling of the senior citizens here at the Spinney.
We are afraid for our future.
