I was Stretford's Rose Queen 65 years ago

IT IS very nice to be home for a short while and I read the May 30 copy of the Trafford Metro News. The front page story was about the Stretford pageant.
It was interesting because I was the Rose Queen (Lillian Bradshaw) in Victory year, after the war. I was 15 and I am now 78, and I remember they made it a great day that year.
When I heard they had pulled the hall down in the park I wrote to many people, including the newspapers, to find out what they did with the beautiful, large flames, all in the colour of past Rose Queens with the train bearers.
I wondered if they were locked away in a cellar collecting dust. I would very much like to buy mine back, if possible. Maybe I might get some answers?
