RAF Cadets were joy to behold
30/ 5/2008
ON MAY 7 I experienced the pleasure, as a guest, of attending the Royal Air Force Civic Reception and Presentation at the Imperial War Museum North.
The event was, in part, hosted and stewarded by members of 318 (Sale) Cadet Squadron. The young people were a credit to the squadron and to themselves.
As representatives of Sale youth, their approach to members of the public attending, their smart appearance, good manners, pertinent knowledge and conversational skills were superb.
Some of us can distinctly remember, during WWII, the 318 Squadron and band parading in Wardle Road, Sale, outside their then headquarters, ‘Inglewood’.
Their smartness, professionalism and expert skills are truly matched by today’s squadron. In closing, I was proud that the young people at this event were representing not only their Squadron, but also Sale, as young citizens of the town.
