School closure a shame

IT WAS with great sadness that I read of the final decision to close Cherry Manor, especially after the tremendous effort involved in coming out of Special Measures.
Sadly, the school was always shunned by many parents, mainly because its academic achievements couldn’t keep up with those of some other schools.
For me, it more than made up for that with children being valued for what they could achieve, academically or otherwise.
Cherry Manor pupils were very special.
I am sorry that more parents didn’t feel able to support the school in terms of pupil numbers.
