KEEN supporter of Bacup Cricket Club Mr Francis Conlan, of Underbank House, Bacup, died at Fairfield Hospital, Bury, aged 88.
After leaving school he worked in the footwear industry until he completed his National Service in the RAF and he was stationed in India during the Second World War.
He was employed on the railway and then worked with the Co-op delivering coal before delivering groceries for the Co-op.
Mr Conlan then worked for Duralay in Haslingden for 16 years before retiring.
He enjoyed playing snooker and darts and liked to watch football.
Mr Conlan leaves his son Russell, daughter-in-law Madge, brother Peter and sister-in-law Gwen.
His funeral is on Tuesday 28 October when the Rev Steve Cobbin will lead a service at the Stacksteads Funeral Home at 10.15am before interment at Bacup cemetery at 10.45am.
