New name Mex people puzzled

WHAT’S in a name? Well, G-Mex is no longer called G-Mex. It has got the new yawn-tastic title of Manchester Central. I’d better say that again because it’s instantly forgettable: Manchester Central.
OK, the railway station that used to be there was called Manchester Central.
But it’s been G-Mex for more than 20 years. And we’d all got used to it.
The organisers of the National Motorcycle Show, which was held there last week, told me it was disastrous for them, even though they’d held the show there for 15 years.
It confused the visitors (none of whom could find it on their SatNavs) and the companies displaying there.
Was it just a change for change’s sake?
